Rear Shock Conversion Instructions

Tools Required:

Installation:

1.  Chock the front and rear of the front wheels. Jack up the rear end and support the chassis on stands. Remove rear wheels.

2.  Locate a jack under the trailing arm and raise the jack until the road spring is slightly compressed.

3.  Remove the locknut, nut and washers and rubber securing the lever shock link to the trailing arm.

4.  Remove the two bolts securing the damper to the chassis.

5.  Withdraw the lever shock complete with damper link.

6.  Install the new shock mount in existing holes from the original lever shock.  Torque the supplied mounting bolts to 50 - 65 lbs.

7.  Install tube shock into trailing arm.  Use the bushings and hardware supplied with your shocks to mount to the trailing arm and upper shock mount.  It is recommended to use an additional nut or lock nut to use as a jam nut on the shock studs.

8. Slowly lower jack under trailing arm, remove jack.

9.  Install rear wheels.  Recommended lug nut torque is 60-80 lbs.

10.  Lower car off of stands.  Check inner side of tire to shock mount clearance using your hand.

11.  Drive, Drive Drive!

*All nuts and bolts on suspension conversion must be checked within 500 miles of installation to verify all parts are secure.  It would be good a practice to check these at the beginning of your driving season, or once a year.
